It has been a little while since I posted anything, but that is because I’ve been busy working, reading, trying new things.  My “independent study” jewelry making is going well as you will see, many items have come forth.  I do want to take some classes, when that opportunity presents itself–I have so much to learn and I’m so excited about it all.  Here are just a few current projects completed.

Genesis 2:9

I learned how to make the Tree of Life yesterday.  Quite labor intensive, but well worth it.  I love how this one turned out.

“And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.”   The Bible, KJV

Tree of Life

Artist at Work

I know that God is blessing me.  There have been many times when I felt that he had forgotten about little old me down here on earth because life has been filled with many trials and troubles over the last three years.  I have continued to pray throughout this ordeal, although sometimes I had my moments of crying out as Jesus did when he was hanging on the cross, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me.”    But he has never forsaken me.  I remember the old gospel tune that says “God may not come when you want him to, but he is always right on time.”

We are still dealing with our troubles, but even with all this, I have a joy and peace that I haven’t had since this storm began. God gave me the jewelry making to bring peace and joy back into a life that was drying up from stress and anxiety and I want to take today’s blog to let any of you reading this know that God does hear our cries.  I am feeling thankful.

Here I am working and giving God the glory!

At Work

On a bender

This is truly a blessing to have the time to see if creative juices will flow after all the years that I have spent doing basically non-creative work.   Don’t get me wrong, I was creative in how I approached my work, but the work itself was pretty straight forward in needs and requirements.

The last few days I have been reading a lot about making wire jewelry and I have been shopping for supplies.  I love going to buy the wires and beads that I want to use because I’m like a kid in a candy store.  Everything looks so good and new ideas for different pieces I want to make are popping up in my head faster than I can keep up with.  I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos as part of my education and inspiration.  Thank you to all the ladies who put their work out there to help those of us just starting out.

When I’m “on a bender” as I like to call it–aka bending wire–I lose all track of space and time–food gets burnt, house doesn’t get cleaned, the cat has to watch t.v. alone, husband is on his own.  There is something so stimulating and satisfying about bending and weaving the wire and beads into something pretty.  It’s almost orgasmic.  Egyptian
